Philanthropists Center Stage at Theatre Opening

Local philanthropists Henrietta, Countess de Hoernle and Mrs. Madelyn Savarick were honored at the Grand Opening Celebration of the Countess de Hoernle Theatre on March 4, 2007 with heartfelt appreciation for their extremely generous contributions to the Spanish River Community High School Foundation.

The state-of-the-art $9 million, 830 seat facility, funded by the district, with support from the Foundation and its donors, was designed to serve as a community focal point for the arts.
The Countess has challenged the local community to contribute to the Foundation in support of excellence at Spanish River High School.
To that end, former Principal Dr. Tuman-Rugg and new principal Dr. Susan Atherley have decided to recognize foundation donors with naming opportunities in the new theatre.
Many parents have generously contributed to the Foundation and a number of seats in the theatre have already been named for donations of $500.
